A batch of corrugated lab testing Instruments has been dispatched to the Philippines.

As the 2026 Spring Festival draws near, the festive cheer is growing stronger, and the longing for home deepens for every wanderer far away.

Ahead of the holiday break, we have dispatched the custom-made Automatic Crush Tester YY8503 with its ECT sample cutter YY 8503B and Automatic Bursting Strength Tester YY109 to the largest Packaging Factory in the Philippines.

These three sets of testing instruments are core testing instruments for packaging, paper products and materials. They are used to verify whether the strength of packaging materials meets the safety standards for transportation, warehousing and usage, and are widely applied in carton factories, printing houses, packaging plants, quality inspection institutions, e-commerce and logistics industries, among others.

Applicable Materials:

Corrugated paper, honeycomb paper, plastic boards, paperboards, paper tubes, cushioning materials, etc.

Meet international transportation standards such as ISTA, ASTM and ISO.

1

Core Testing Index: Bursting Strength, referring to the maximum pressure a material can withstand against internal pressure until rupture under uniform pressurization (Unit: kPa, kgf/cm², psi).

Testing Principle: Apply uniform and continuous radial pressure to the test sample through hydraulic/pneumatic pressure until the sample ruptures, and record the peak pressure.

2

Core Testing Index: Compressive Strength, the maximum force a sample can withstand against deformation and crushing under uniform vertical pressurization (Unit: N, kN). It can also measure deformation and stacking limit.

Testing Principle: The motor drives the pressure plate to press down at a constant speed, applying vertical pressure to the test sample until crushing or reaching the set deformation, and record the force value and displacement.

The crush tester is mainly used for testing the mechanical properties such as compressive strength, circumferential pressure, edge pressure, and planar pressure of paperboard, cartons, paper, plastics, and packaging materials. The core indicators are divided into two categories: equipment performance indicators and material testing indicators:

1. Core material testing indicators (the detection results that users are most concerned about)
Compressive strength (maximum compressive force)
Unit: N (newtons), kN (kilonewtons), kgf (kilogram-force)
Meaning: The maximum compressive force that the material / sample can withstand, which is the most basic core indicator.
Compressive strength / Tear resistance (converted value)
Unit: kPa (kiloPascal), kgf/cm² (kilogram-force per square centimeter), psi (pound-force per square inch)
Used for the overall compressive assessment of packaging cartons and paperboards.
Circumferential pressure strength (RCT)
Unit: N/m (newtons per meter), kN/m (kilonewtons per meter)
For the lateral compressive strength of paper cores and corrugated base paper circular specimens.
Edge pressure strength (ECT)
Unit: N/m (newtons per meter), kN/m (kilonewtons per meter)
The compressive strength in the edge direction of corrugated cartons, directly determining the stacking capacity of the carton.
Planar pressure strength (FCT)
Unit: N (newtons), kPa (kiloPascal)
The compressive strength of the corrugated core paper / paperboard in the plane direction, reflecting the supporting performance of the core paper.
Bonding strength (PAT, peeling / bonding test)
Unit: N/m (newtons per meter)
The bonding strength between the surface paper and the core paper of the corrugated carton.
Stacking strength / Stacking height
Unit: mm (millimeters), m (meters), kg (kilograms)
Simulates warehouse stacking and calculates the number of layers and height at which the carton can be safely stacked.
Deformation / Displacement
Unit: mm (millimeters)
The compression deformation corresponding to the applied pressure, used to determine the yield point and collapse point.
Compression modulus / Stiffness
Unit: MPa (megapascals)
The ability of the material to resist compressive deformation (rigidity).
Test force accuracy and indication error
Key quality control indicators, determining the reliability of the data.
2. Core performance indicators of the equipment (technical parameters of the instrument itself)
Range
Common: 0-5kN, 10kN, 20kN, 50kN (selected according to packaging / material).
Force accuracy
Grade: 0.5 grade, 1 grade (indication error ±0.5% or ±1%).
Displacement resolution / accuracy
Resolution: 0.001mm – 0.01mm.
Loading speed (press plate speed)
Standard commonly used: 10mm/min, 12.7mm/min, 20mm/min, 50mm/min.
Effective compression space (travel)
The distance between the upper and lower press plates, the maximum height of the test sample that can be tested.
Press plate size
Standard: 100mm×100mm, 150mm×150mm, 200mm×150mm, etc. Control method
Control method
Constant force, constant displacement, constant strain, program stepwise loading.
III. Common standards for reference (determining which algorithm to use)
GB/T 2679.8 Paper and paperboard Ring compression strength
GB/T 6543 Corrugated carton compressive strength
GB/T 6546 Edge compressive strength of corrugated paperboard
GB/T 6547 Flat compressive strength of corrugated paperboard
International standards such as ISO 12048, ASTM D642, TAPPI T804, etc.微信图片_20260208112737_5667_7微信图片_20260208112738_5668_7微信图片_20260208112739_5669_7微信图片_20260117173911_298_14
