How to use the rapid loading melt flow Indexer ?

The YYP-400DT Rapid Loading Melt Flow Indexer (also known as Melt Flow Rate Tester or Melt Index Tester) is used to measure the flow rate of the molten plastic, rubber and other high-molecular materials under a certain pressure.

You can following the basic steps for using this YYP-400 DT Raid loading melt flow indexer:

1. Install the die and piston: Insert the die into the upper end of the barrel and press it down until it contacts the die plate with the loading rod. Then, insert the piston rod (assembly) into the barrel from the upper end.

2. Preheat the barrel: Plug in the power plug and turn on the power switch on the control panel. Set the constant temperature point, sampling time interval, sampling frequency, and loading load on the test parameter setting page. After entering the test main page, press the start button, and the instrument begins to heat up. When the temperature stabilizes at the set value, maintain the temperature for at least 15 minutes.

3. Add the sample: After 15 minutes of constant temperature, put on the prepared gloves (to prevent burns) and remove the piston rod. Use the loading hopper and loading rod to sequentially load the prepared sample and press it into the barrel. The entire process should be completed within 1 minute. Then, put the piston back into the barrel, and after 4 minutes, you can apply the standard test load to the piston.

4. Conduct the test: Place the sampling plate below the discharge port. When the piston rod drops to the lower ring mark on it being level with the upper surface of the guide sleeve, press the RUN button. The material will be automatically scraped according to the set number of times and sampling time intervals.

5. Record the results: Select 3-5 sample strips without bubbles, cool them, and place them on the balance. Measure their mass (balance, accurate to 0.01g), take the average value, and press the average value input button on the test main page. The instrument will automatically calculate the melt flow rate value and display it on the interface main page.

6. Clean the equipment: After the test is completed, wait until all the material in the barrel is squeezed out. Put on the prepared gloves (to prevent burns), remove the weights and piston rod, and clean the piston rod. Turn off the instrument power, unplug the power plug.
