Short Description:

Instrument Description:

The YY461B  Gerley Permeability Tester adopts advanced technology and is combined with the most commonly used test methods to measure the air permeability of paper, paperboard, or other sheet-like materials. It is a fully automatic instrument controlled by a programmable microcomputer. Its test methods meet the requirements of various standards such as Gurley, Bendtsen, and Sheffield, making it an advanced instrument for testing paper air permeability in China’s papermaking, packaging, and cigarette industries, with performance reaching international standards.

Working Principle:

Designed based on the positive pressure method, the preprocessed sample is placed between the upper and lower measuring surfaces to form a constant pressure difference on both sides of the sample. Driven by the pressure difference, gas flows from the high-pressure side through the sample to the low-pressure side. The air permeability of the sample is calculated according to the area of the sample, the pressure difference, and the gas flow rate.
