YY8503 Crush tester can be used to perform a variety of tests, such as ring crush strength (RCT), edge crush strength (ECT), flat crush strength (FCT), Ply adhesive strength(PAT); Flat crush of corrugating medium(CMT) and Fluted edge crush of corrugating medium(CCT), which are described in detail below:
Meaning of each test index and test method:
1)Ring crush strength (RCT):
Meaning: The base paper along the direction of the banner cut a certain size of the sample into a ring and apply pressure to it, the size of the measured sample crush strength is the size of the base paper ring crush strength, the ring crush strength is calculated by the length of the sample and the maximum crush force.
Test method: The base paper is made into a ring sample, and the pressure is placed in the compressor until the sample collapses, and the maximum compression force is recorded.
2)Edge crush strength (ECT)
Meaning: It refers to the rectangular cardboard sample placed between the two pressure plates of the crush tester, and the corrugated direction of the sample is perpendicular to the two pressure plates of the tester, and then the pressure is applied to the sample until the sample collapses, and the ultimate pressure that the sample can withstand is determined.
Test method: Place the rectangular cardboard sample perpendicular to the corrugated direction between the two pressure plates of the compressor, apply pressure until the sample collapses, and record the ultimate pressure.
3)Flat crush strength (FCT),
Meaning: is the ability of corrugated cardboard to withstand pressure parallel to the direction of the corrugated.
Test method: Place the corrugated cardboard sample parallel to the corrugated direction between the compression plate, apply pressure until the sample collapses, and measure the pressure it can withstand.
4)Ply adhesive strength(PAT)
Meaning: Reflects the adhesion between the layers of corrugated cardboard.
Test method: Insert the needle attachment (stripping rack) between the sample's corrugated paper and the inner paper (or between the corrugated paper and the intermediate paper), and then press the needle stripping rack with the sample to make it move relative to each other, and determine the maximum force required to separate the separated part.
5)Flat crush of corrugating medium(CMT test)
Meaning: is the compression strength of corrugated base paper in a specific state of corrugating.
Test method: Compress the base paper after corrugating according to relevant standards and record its pressure.
6)Fluted edge crush of corrugating medium（CCT）
Meaning: It is also a test index for the compression performance of corrugated base paper after corrugating.
Test method: Compression test is carried out on the corrugated base paper after corrugating to measure the maximum pressure it can withstand.
