The Main Purpose

This instrument is specially designed to measure the liquid repellent efficiency of fabric protective clothing fabrics for acid and alkali chemicals.

Instrument characteristics and technical indicators

1. Semi-cylindrical plexiglass transparent tank, with an inner diameter of (125±5) mm and a length of 300 mm.

2. The diameter of the injection needle hole is 0.8mm; the needle tip is flat.

3. Automatic injection system, continuous injection of 10mL reagent within 10s.

4. Automatic timing and alarm system; LED display test time, accuracy 0.1S.

5. Power supply: 220VAC 50Hz 50W

Applicable standards

GB24540-2009 "Protective clothing, acid-base chemical protective clothing"

Steps

1. Cut a rectangular filter paper and a transparent film each with a size of (360±2)mm×(235±5)mm.

2. Put the weighed transparent film into a hard transparent tank, cover it with filter paper, and adhere closely to each other. Be careful not to leave any gaps or wrinkles, and ensure that the lower ends of the hard transparent groove, transparent film, and filter paper are flush.

3. Place the sample on the filter paper so that the long side of the sample is parallel to the side of the groove, the outer surface is upward, and the folded side of the sample is 30mm beyond the lower end of the groove. Check the sample carefully to make sure that its surface fits tightly with the filter paper, then fix the sample on the hard transparent groove with a clamp.

4. Weigh the weight of the small beaker and record it as m1.

5. Place the small beaker under the folded edge of the sample to ensure that all reagents flowing down from the surface of the sample can be collected.

6. Confirm that the "test time" timer device on the panel is set to 60 seconds (standard requirement).

7. Press the "power switch" on the panel to the "1" position to turn on the instrument power.

8. Prepare the reagent so that the injection needle is inserted into the reagent; press the "aspirate" button on the panel, and the instrument will start to run for aspiration.

9. After the aspiration is completed, remove the reagent container; press the "Inject" button on the panel, the instrument will automatically inject reagents, and the "test time" timer will start timing; the injection is completed after about 10 seconds.

10. After 60 seconds, the buzzer will alarm, indicating that the test is complete.

11. Tap the edge of the hard transparent groove to make the reagent suspended on the folded edge of the sample slip off.

12. Weigh the total weight m1/ of the reagents collected in the small beaker and the cup, and record the data.

13. Result processing:

The liquid repellent index is calculated according to the following formula:

formula

I- liquid repellent index,%

m1-The mass of the small beaker, in grams

m1'-the mass of reagents collected in the small beaker and the beaker, in grams

m-the mass of reagent dropped onto the sample, in grams

14. Press the "power switch" to the "0" position to power off the instrument.

15. The test is completed.

Precautions

1. After the test is completed, residual solution cleaning and emptying operations must be carried out! After completing this step, it is best to repeat the cleaning with cleaning agent.

2. Both acid and alkali are corrosive. Test personnel should wear acid/alkali-proof gloves to avoid personal injury.

3. The power supply of the instrument should be well grounded!
